Slavic-American Chamber of Commerce member Jelisaveta Gavrić, 39, of Sacramento, has been appointed by Governor Brown to the State Mining and Geology Board. Jelisaveta is a legislative and regulatory policy advocate for the California Association of REALTORS® where she focuses on issues concerning land use and the environment. Prior to her career with the REALTORS® and State Mining and Geology Board, Jelisaveta worked as an engineering geologist focused on environmental remediation, seismic engineering and water supply issues. Jelisaveta is a graduate of the College of Math and Natural Sciences at CSU Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science in Geology. She also maintains her licenses as both a Professional Geologist and a Certified Engineering Geologist. Jelisaveta has recently also launched her own practice as an Executive Coach and Business Consultant under her company name Terra Firma Strategic Advisors LLC. In addition to being involved in community and professional organizations for the past 20 years, Jelisaveta has been actively involved on the Board of local charity Capitol Network since 2005, and she also currently serves as a Board Member for the Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.
